Best Project Work - Week 1

These sketch-style visualisations were part of my AD6605 design module submission in Semester 1. The goal was to create a sequential journey through my Glevum festival site, which celebrates the history of Gloucester. Each visualisation represents a different area of the site.

I created these sketches using a black sharpie on plain white paper. One strength of this work is my confident line work—I’m not afraid of a thick pen on paper. However, there are several areas for improvement:

  • Some perspectives are distorted and don't fully capture the essence of Glevum.
  • The lack of colour makes the images feel flat, lacking depth and complexity.
  • Overuse of line work in some areas makes the scenes hard to distinguish.

These are my key areas for improvement. While there are other minor issues, addressing these would significantly enhance the visuals. Time management is a challenge for me, so the visualisations were rushed, meaning they don't reflect my best work. For my next post, I plan to focus on improving these aspects, even if only slightly, and the updated visuals will reflect that.

The following images (above included), explore these visualisations.
